These two photographs were taken of Hale School students representing Hale through 1929 and 1930 in Athletics and football. He was captain of the Athletics team in 1930 and captained the first 18 in football and represented the State in Schoolboys and captained the State Schoolboys in 1928.
He was described as an absolute gentleman and was well liked throughout the league. His first season as an 18 year old he won the Sandover Medal and he repeated it the following year. That year he was also made captain of the State side.
Sydney “Sammy” Campbell Clarke played football for the Claremont Football during the seasons 1933 – 1941. He played 133 league games and a number of State games for Western Australia.
